Sounds like maybe Jeff's "aura" [or, "Karizma" is a better word [img]wink.gif[/img] ] wore off on Vinnie [he went from spastic pyrotechnic Zappa god to also session grooveman deluxe...] [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]cool.gif[/img]
Not that he couldnt groove b4...just, different [young & "full of testosterone!"]... [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

Vinnie's always had that zesty edge to his playg, which to me was a contrast to the more "laid back, back-massage" feels of say Jeff, Gadd, JR, Keltner, etc...but when that studio "red" light goes on, he can morph into the "smooth groover" AW... [img]cool.gif[/img]

yeah i was just searching some stuff on jeff because i knew little about him and i found this...it was a good read..so i decided to post here....vinnie really is a good speaker and he can really communicate with people

I have not heard "Gimme The Goods" in a while, and I am reminded why Jeff is such a celebrated drumming figure! It is amazing to think of all the drummers in the world proportionate to the very few drumming figures who define the art!
